Jeff Huston was born at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam in 1982. As child in a military family he moved consistently until they came to Fairchild Air Force base in Spokane Washington. At the age of 11 Jeff's father was killed in a plane crash while serving in active duty. This event shaped questions about masculinity and culture that are central to his artwork.

Jeff earned a Bachelors of Art in sculpture and drawing from Azusa Pacific University in 2005 and his MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2015. Jeff spent his first 10 years after college working in Spokane Washington as a video editor at North by Northwest a Digital Studio. In 2016 Jeff accepted a job teaching media arts at Bakersfield College in central California where he currently lives with his wife and two-year-old son. In his studio practice Jeff asks questions about faith and physicality in western white masculine identity using video, photography, sculpture, performance and installation.
